Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman Deb Montgomery is the epitome of the strong, independent, female using her artistry to not only make a few statements but to also inspire the next generations of females to own their womanhood. Deb's proficient songwriting and masterful musicianship combine in authentic ways to deliver music that is pure, honest and organic. It does not get much better than this! Favorite track: All the Water.

dominicwilliams86 Deb Montgomery seems to encapsulate every female artist in this album. Her vocals are reminiscent of Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon but her songs are sung from the heart, something you don't hear on mainstream radio today. Wake Me is my personal favourite because it has such a great rhythm and the lyrics are simple but perfect. Something I look for in a singer songwriter is conveying a world of emotion through a simple lyric and Deb does this perfectly. Favorite track: Wake Me.

about

Deb Montgomery Seattle, Washington

With the intentionally primal sounds of heavy drums and fattened bass sounds, This edgy and energized EP, Montgomery brings her rock roots to the forefront and continues to explore the depths of grace needed to move through life’s vulnerabilities and losses. The beauty of arranged strings sprinkled throughout the album brings the paradoxical lightness that can sound like grace in the midst. ... more

Track Name: All the Water
All the Water inside
All the Water inside
Needs Way to Go
Needs Way to Go
All the Things that we Hide
All the Things that we Hide
Need Way to Show
Need Way to Show
On the River On the Sea
You found me and I got Free
That's the Way it Goes
That's the Way it Goes
So Why?!
Why don't You Come?!
And Sail
Sail the Sea with me Now
And IF
If you Can't Sail
Then Walk on Water
Walk on Water with me Now!
Track Name: DIg for Diamonds
Dig for Diamonds in the Mud and the Sand
Take the Kid that you left by the hand
He's got stories you won't understand
Until you go

YOU CAN TURN THIS AROUND
TRADE IN THE NOISE FOR YOUR FEET ON THE GROUND
YOU CAN TURN THIS AROUND
IT'S OK TO BE LOST
THEN YOU CAN BE FOUND

Dive for Pearls at the Bottom of the Sea
It'll cost you something if you want to be free
She's got stories but between you and me
You need to see

Go up higher than you've ever gone
Gotta hit the Bottom before you sing a new song
And before you know it love comes along
To bring you home
Track Name: Wake Me
Wake me, I've been asleep too long
Take me, I'm not afraid to Belong

All the Things I've been afraid of
I didn't know what You were made of,
Love

Break me, I'm a wave on your shore
Shake me, I'm not afraid to want more

All the things I've been afraid of
I didn't know what you were made of
Love

Hold me!
I get ahead of Things
Time and Time again
We get ahead of things
All the while you just knew
I was running back running back
to You

Falling, it's the way of things
Calling, Mercy wants you to sing

All the things You've been afraid of
Just didn't know what you are made of
Love
Hold me!
I get ahead of Things
Time and Time again
We get ahead of things
All the while You just knew
We were running back, running back to you!
Track Name: Hold On
When the Rains Come
When the Rain Comes down
When the Waters Come
When the Water Comes
When the Waters Rise
When the Waters Rise Up

You've Got to Hold on To Your Love
You've Got to Hold on To Your Love

When the Fires Burn
When the Fire Burns
When the Flames grow High
when the Flames Reach the Sky

When your Tender Heart Breaks
when your Tender Heart Breaks
When the Ones you Love don't Wake
When the Ones you Love don't Wake
Track Name: Mend
You got a Ways to Go
You got Fears and Things that Hold You Low
You're scared to Leave your Home and Go
Scared they'll See How you're So Slow
But you could Fly Little Bird
You Could Fly High
Yeh, You Could Fly High
and Sing
and Sing

Always on the Mend
Mending takes So much Time
And all they give you is a Dime to Spend
Don't they Know that you're Near to your End
But you Could Fly
Little Bird
you Could Fly High
Yeh, you could Fly
little bird You could Fly High
and
Sing Your Song
and
Sing Your Song
